Veranderingen in 1961 en 1962 Entiteiten januari 1961: Actief 305, Verwijderd: 12, Afgevoerd 4 Kaliningrad (UA2) wordt toegevoegd (QST januari 1961, pagina 94) Announcement is hereby made of the addition to the ARRL Countries List of Kaliningradsk Region. A territory of the Russian Socialist Federated Soviet Republic, Kaliningradsk Region is situated between Poland and Lithuania. This addition is in accordance with Point 3 of the country criteria as explained in the April, 1960, issue of QST on page 80. Veranderingen in de Mali Federatie (QST januari 1961, pagina 94) In the September, 1960, issue of QST, announcement was made regarding the addition to the ARRL Countries List of the Mali Federation. In view of the short existence of the Mali Federation, we are deleting the listing of Mali Federation and replacing it with the two listings of Mali Republic and Senegal Republic. These two republics are the ones that made up the Mali Federation. (The Mali Republic was formerly known as the Sudanese Republic.) If DXCC credit already has been given toward the Mali Federation listing, credit will be automatically transferred to the appropriate listing. For example, if credit has been given toward the Mali Federation listing for a contact with FF8JC, then that credit will be entered as credit toward the Senegal Republic. However, in this particular example, no new credit can be claimed for a contact with the Mali Republic until March 1, 1961. Als je dit bericht in QST goed leest dan merk je wellicht dat dit bericht niet compleet is. Dit stuk hoort er ook bij volgens mij: Another example, if you got credit for FF8AJ toward the Mali Federation then that credit will be entered as credit toward the Mali Republic. However in this particular example, no new credit can be claimed for a contact with the Senegal Republic until March 1, 1961. QSO’s met Mali en Senegal tellen vanaf 20 juni 1960. Mali Federation withdrawn. Dat was in januari 1961 in de QST te lezen. Waarom withdrawn vraag je je af. Was de DXAC zo slordig geweest?. Nee natuurlijk niet, maar er kwam meteen bonje toen de Mali Federatie onafhankelijk werd. Senegal verklaarde zich op 20 augustus 1960 onafhankelijk van de Mali Federatie, en Mali werd een zelfstandige republiek op 23 september 1960. Beide landen werden internationaal erkend. Senegal kreeg later de prefix 6W en Mali behield de TZ prefix. De QSO begindatum voor Senegal werd door de “Withdrawn” dezelfde als die van Mali, 20 juni 1960. Dus weer moest de DXer in zijn kaartenbak snuffelen om te controleren of er misschien wel een DXCC puntje was toe te voegen. Want er kon misschien al een QSO met Senegal hebben plaatsgevonden. (DX is!!) Eilanden zoeken kan nog steeds . De DXCC Zoekers waren natuurlijk nog steeds bezig nieuwe gebieden voor het DXCC te vinden. Ook nu werden er weer eilanden gevonden die als Entiteit door het leven konden gaan. Bajo Nuevo (HK0) werd een (Punt 3) deelnemer. Dat kwam omdat KS4 Serrana Bank, die eerder was toegevoegd, tussen Colombia en Baja Nuevo lag. En dat gold ook voor Kure Island (KH7) dat van het “moederland” gescheiden was door Midway eiland. Ook Malpelo (HK0) voldeed aan (Punt 2) van de DXCC regels. Oei, ook nog een gebied die gescheiden was van het moederland werd ontdekt. Oost Pakistan (of het vroegere Oost Bengalen) zat niet aan het moederland (West Pakistan) vast. Daar zat India tussen, dus was (Punt 3) van toepassing op Oost Pakistan. Met terugwerkende kracht (15 november 1945) waren QSO’s voor Oost Pakistan(AP) . Oost Pakistan werd in 1971 onafhankelijk en veranderde haar naam in Banglasesh. Bajo Nuevo (HK0) toegevoegd. (QST maart 1961, pagina 64) Announcement is hereby made of the addition to the ARRL Countries List of Bajo Nuevo. A territory claimed by Colombia, Bajo Nuevo is situated in the Caribbean Sea approximately 400 miles NNW of Colombia and approximately 250 miles NNE of the Colombian island of Providencia. The DXCC listing of Roncador Cay & Serrana Bank separates Bajo Nuevo from the island of Providencia. Deze toevoeging voldoet aan Punt 2 en 3 van de reglementen, zoals is beschreven in QST van april 1960 (pagina 80) QSO’s met Bajo Nuevo tellen vanaf 15 november 1945.. Kure Island (KH6) & East Pakistan toegevoegd (QST mei 1961, pagina 91) Announcement is hereby made of two additions to the ARRL Countries List. The additions are Kure Island and East Pakistan. Although Kure Island is the westernmost island of the Hawaiian Islands, its separation from the rest of the Hawaiian chain by Midway places it under Point 3 of the criteria (see page 80, April 1960 QST, DXCC Note). East Pakistan also comes under Point 3 of the Criteria. Malpelo Island is located in the Pacific Ocean some 310 miles west of Bueneventura, Colombia. The closest point of Colombian territory to Malpelo Island measures 232 miles, thus placing it under Point 2 of the criteria (see page 80, April 1960 QST, DXCC Note). QSO’s met Malpelo Island tellen vanaf 15 november 1945. Nog meer succes voor de DXCC zoekers. toen ook nog Damao (CR8) en Diu (CR8) de status van DXCC Entiteit kregen in augustus 1961. Want die waren deel van Goa. En dat “moederland” Goa was van hun gescheiden door India. En Goa (CR8), een Portugees protectoraat stond nog niet op de DXCC lijst vernoemd. Wow, drie nieuwe Entiteiten. In september 1961 werd deze toevoeging gecorrigeerd. Damao en Diu verdwenen (Withdrawn), en werden vervangen door een andere Entiteit Damao-Diu. De prefix bleef hetzelfde (CR8). Damao en Diu (CR8) toegevoegd (QST August 1961, page 79) Announcement is hereby made of two additions to the ARRL Countries List. These additions are DAMAO and DIU. Both Damao and Diu are pieces of Portuguese territory situated on the west coast of India. Each of these will be considered as separate from each other and from the present listing of Goa by virtue of Point 3 of the criteria (see page 80, April 1960 QST, DXCC Notes). QSO’s met beide Entiteiten Damao of Diu tellen vanaf 15 november 1945. In september 1961 werd deze toevoeging gecorrigeerd.), Niemand had een QSO met Damao en/of Diu kunnen maken. Damao en Diu werden daarom afgevoerd (Withdrawn en werden vervangen door een andere Entiteit Damao-Diu. De prefix bleef hetzelfde (CR8). CORRECTION: With reference to the DXCC Note of August 1961 QST (p. 78) regarding the addition to the Countries List of Damao and Diu, inasmuch as Point 3 of the criteria calls for the separation of 75 miles of foreign land, Damao and Diu cannot be considered as two listings but rather as one. Damao and Diu will be considered as separate from the Goa listing by virtue of Point 3 of the criteria. QSO’s met Damao-Diu tellen vanaf 15 november 1945. Kuwait/Saudi Arabia Neutral Zone toegevoegd (QST september 1961, pagina 83). De DXCC Entiteiten zoekers vonden nog een gebied met een aparte status., de Koeweit/Saudi Arabische neutrale zone (Punt 1). De Neutrale Zone behoorde tot geen van de twee nationale gebieden. Het was beide landen niet toegestaan de zone te militariseren maar nomaden uit beide landen kregen wel het recht ongehinderd de weiden en bronnen van de Neutrale Zone te gebruiken. De neutrale zone tussen Koeweit en Saudi Arabië is hiernaast groen gekleurd Announcement is hereby made of the addition to the ARRL Countries list of KUWAIT/SAUDI ARABIA NEUTRAL ZONE. This Neutral Zone is located between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia and encompasses territory over which the sovereignty has not been established. Only confirmations for contacts with stations which have had specific written permission to operate from this Neutral Zone by either Kuwait or Saudi Arabia will be accepted for DXCC credit. Maar toch was toestemming van Koeweit of van Saudi Arabië nodig De ITU had prefix blok 8ZA-8ZZ aan Saudi Arabië, en 9KA-9KZ aan Koeweit toegekend.   Kamaran Islands (VS9K) toegevoegd (QST december 1961, pagina 90). Announcement is hereby made of the addition to the ARRL Countries List of Kamaran Islands. The Kamaran Islands are located in the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen. En zoals gewoonlijk bij “vergeten Entiteiten” werd de geldige startdatum voor QSO’s met Kamaran Islands15 november 1945 Entiteiten januari 1962: Actief 314, Verwijderd: 12, Afgevoerd 5 Wijzigingen op politiek gebied België begon na de tweede wereldoorlog haar grip op de Belgische Kongo te verliezen. Daardoor ontstond in 1960 de Entiteit Ruanda-Urundi. Op 1 juli 1962 werd deze Entiteit gesplitst en gingen door als de onafhankelijke Entiteiten Rwanda (9X5) en Burundi (9U5). Goa het Portugese protectoraat Goa aan de westkust van India hield op te bestaan toen in december 1961 India het gebied binnenviel. Dat was ook natuurlijk het einde van Damao-Diu dat bij Goa hoorde. Op 1 januari werden beide Entiteiten Goa en Damao-Diu toegevoegd aan de Deleted lijst. Nog een vergeten eiland wordt een Entiteit Het eiland Guam (KG6) is het zuidelijkste eiland van de Marianen, een eilandengroep ten westen van de Marianentrog in Micronesië. Het eiland wordt nog steeds bestuurd vanuit de Verenigde Staten, en valt daarom onder Point 1 van de regels. Guam is het meest zuidelijke eiland van de Marianen Eilanden (in de Grote of Stille Oceaan) en ligt ongeveer 9300 km test westen van San Fransisco en 2600 km ten oosten van Manila (Filipijnen). Hé, wacht eens eventjes. Waarom telt Guam als een aparte Entiteit als het eiland behoort tot de Marianen Eilanden? Dat kan toch nooit een Punt 2 (geografisch) toevoeging zijn! . Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog kwamen de Marianen eilanden onder controle van de U.S.-administered Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands (TTPI). Dit als gevolg van de Veiligheidsraad Resolutie 21. Maar door Veiligheidsraad Resolutie 683 werd het beheer aan TTPI ontnomen en werden de Marianen Eilanden een territorium van de Verenigde Staten. De bevolking van Guam weigerde echter (vanwege historische redenen) zich neer te leggen bij deze Resolutie 683 en bleven gescheiden van de rest van de Marianen Eilanden. Damao-Diu en Goa verwijderd (QST april 1962, pagina 85) Announcement is hereby made of the deletion to the ARRL Countries List of two listings. Effective as of January 1, 1962, the listings of Damao, Diu, and Goa are deleted. QSO’s gemaakt voor of op 31 december 1962 tellen voor het DXCC Drie toevoegingen en een verwijdering (QST september 1962, pagina 85) De Entiteiten die erbij komen zijn (1) Ruanda, (2) Urundi, en (3) Guam. Ruanda-Urundi. Verdwijnt naar de Deleted lijst. RUANDA and URUNDI: On July 1, 1961, the former U.N. Trust Territory of Ruanda-Urundi, under the administration of Belgium, became two completely separate and independent countries. Therefore, contacts with either RUANDA or URUNDI made July 1, 1962 and after will be considered as separate and different from the listing of the U.N. Trust Territory of Ruanda-Urundi. QSO’s met Ruanda-Burundi tellen vanaf 1 juli 1960 tot en met 30 juni 1962 tellen voor DXCC QSO’s met Ruanda en Burundi tellen vanaf 1 juli 1962 voor DXCC GUAM: Concerning the addition of Guam to the Countries List: A re-examination and factual evaluation of the question of Guam, with relation to the rest of the Mariana Islands group, shows definite and substantial reasons for not only the addition of Guam to the Countries List but also a re-evaluation of the credits that have previously been given toward the Mariana Islands listing. The reallocation of credits previously given will be made in the following manner. If the credit that has been given toward the Mariana Islands listing was for contact with a station operating from Guam, then Guam credit will automatically be given upon submission of a confirmation for a contact with any of the other islands in the Mariana Islands group. Conversely, if the credit that has been given for the Mariana Islands listing was for a contact with one of the other islands in the Mariana Islands group other than Guam, then a confirmation for a contact with a station operating on Guam must be submitted for Guam credit. No great problem should be posed to anyone in evaluating their KG6 credits or confirmations. For the most part call signs issued for use in both Guam and the other islands in the Mariana Group are distinctive and readily recognizable inasmuch as the first letter of the call following the prefix is indicative of the location of the station. For example, in the case of stations licensed for operation from Guam, the first letter of the call following the prefix presently runs from A through H. Call signs issued for use in the Mariana Trust Territory islands of Rota, Saipan and Tinian have R, S, and T, respectively, as the first letter following the prefix.
